Many international manufacturers of contemporary design introduce their latest and best products to professional and public visitors at the Interieur Biennale. Alongside these major companies, however, the young talents of today and tomorrow, the educational establishments and supporting organisations with an interest in design, must not remain absent from the Biennale. For the fifth time, the doors of the Underground at the Kortrijk venue will be open to young talent, up and coming designers and creative entrepreneurs.

This low-budget initiative is made-to-measure for young designers, educational establishments and organisations supporting design. It offers space to introduce designs, initiatives and training opportunities in a relaxed and creative atmosphere, alongside the major design manufacturers. It is an international platform for young designers to make their first professional steps, and an ideal forum for organisations to introduce their programme to the wider public.

In previous years, 'theyoungdesignersfair' and the Design Competition were on display in the Underground. This part of the venue will now be developed into a true creative hub where new applications, new materials and techniques, and new products get their time under the spotlight.
