Meet the Biennale Interieur during Salone del Mobile in Milan at Atelier Clerici: a 5-day programme of exhibitions and events by a select group of designers, galleries and institutions at the elegant Palazzo Clerici.
At Atelier Clerici, Joseph Grima (Space Caviar) —curator of the cultural programme of Biennale Interieur 2014—will display an analysis of the domestic interior over time. The presentation is part of Grima's research programme commissioned by Interieur. Using architectural drawings to construct an imaginary landscape of “ideal” homes designed throughout the centuries, we will explore how models of living have evolved in response to social change.
During Milan’s design week, a series of discussions will be moderated by Joseph Grima between design practitioners and critics, many of whom have been guests of Interieur in the past. Around the drawing table, the participants will come together at unexpected moments to reflect on the status of contemporary domesticity.
This event is part of an international programme of debates and talks in the run-up to a research-driven Biennale Interieur, which will take place from 17 to 26 October 2014 in Kortrijk, Belgium.
Alongside Interieur, Atelier Clerici welcomes a select group of designers, galleries and institutions from all over Europe such as Belén, Caesarstone with Raw Edges, Golran with Raw Edges, experimentadesign with Space Caviar, Formafantasma, KASK / School of Arts Ghent, Makers with Agendas, MU| Eindhoven with Bart Hess, Studio Minale-Maeda and Z33 in collaboration with DAMn°.

Sketch: Agora scenography in each hall of Kortrijk Xpo - Agora Athens 5th Century BC.
The scenography of the Biennale INTERIEUR 2014 is literally giving space and visibility to the ideas of its exhibitors. At the centre of each hall in Kortrijk Xpo, visitors will discover an 'agora', an assembly of different and innovative ways to participate in the Biennale: unique stands, Interieur's new 'plug and play' islands, award winning bars and dedicated exhibitions. Together they will create a spacious and surprising landscape. It is the ideal place for exhibitors to 'open up' and redefine the essence of product presentation within our changing times.
