The board of the international Biennale Interieur announces the appointment of Jo Libeer as CEO. Jo Libeer was already involved in the Interieur Foundation and will now also take the operational end responsibility for the Biennale Interieur. He will take up his new role from July 1st 2015.
"The Biennale Interieur, founded in 1967, will celebrate it silver jubilee in 2016. Because it is our ambition to make the 25th edition a benchmark for the future of Interieur, we expand and strengthen the team. Libeer's knowledge of the economic field and his track-record in project management will benefit the Biennale. Through the repositioning of the Biennale in the recent editions and the better economic prospects, we intend to create an optimistic, clear and participative edition for all the participants of INTERIEUR 2016," says president Lowie Vermeersch.
Jo Libeer will continue to be managing director of Voka - Flanders' Chamber of Commerce and Industry - until the end of June. Earlier this year Libeer announced that he would leave Voka after 32 years to work on projects at the crossroads of culture and commerce.
"The international Biennale Interieur is the first project situated at those crossroads. It is a place where artistic creation, product development and industrial production meet, an ecosystem of reflection on living and a quest for the avant-garde of contemporary living. It is also a place to discover the best in the field of international interior design and creativity, because of the Biennale's rigorous exhibitor selection. I am looking forward to work within this fascinating environment," says Jo Libeer.
